Why does everyone seem to enjoy Adele all of a sudden? I’m doing a project that includes historical music trending, and some feedback would help alot.
I think the writers strikes have a lot to do with it. Since the writers strikes occurred TV networks have been vying for more reality TV. When reality TV came out shows like american idol, americas got talent, and the voice came out. Now not everyone could get on these shows ofcourse, but then you tube eventually came out and people tapped it for that. MySpace also started allowing vlogs and music to be added. So news about bands, garage bands, and artist of the like were able to get their music out. Once their music hits trending, record labels knowing their music sells would offer them a job.
Those would probably be interesting areas to touch on in your report =) since they show a current emerging trens in music making. Many popular musicians today got discovered via TV contests or You Tube. It would be interesting to see a compiled list or a study done on it. Let me know how your project goes =)
